Our software tours are a mixture of historical guidebook, walking tour and tourist handbook. Each one features immersive 360° images
which let you use your mouse to 'look around'. All our tours come with informative text and accompanying audio voice-overs and many feature rotatable models, archive images, maps and video clips.

to use.  If you can use a mouse, and your PC runs Windows XP, Vista or 7, then you can enjoy these tours!   You also get a 30 day, no quibble, money back guarantee.

-Panorama of the month-.............................................................            .This section last updated manually 29/7/12

This panoramic scene was taken on the Mound in Edinburgh.  The Olympic Rings aren't the only thing to see here!  From this point you can see Princes Street, Princes Street Gardens (once the site of the North, or Nor', Loch.  Edinburgh Castle just peeps through the trees.  The pink and white buildings are Ramsay Gardens, one of the most exclusive addresses in the capital.

To control the image above, simply click on it, click and hold your left mouse button and very smoothly move your mouse left and right, up and down to look around.  Click on the green hotspots to move forward to the next scene, or the red ones to go back to the previous scene.  Clicking on the numbered hotspots will reveal rotatable models, video clips or images.  You can 'drag' the rotatable models left or right to manipulate them.

-Current newsletter-........................................................                          This section last updated manually 15/5/12

Our monthly newsletter contains up-to-date information about some of the locations covered in our Interactive Guided Tours - mainly York, Chester and Edinburgh.  Links to relevant news articles are provided within the newsletter.

Each issue contains some travel tips about Edinburgh.  We often include links to some interesting YouTube videos made by other people.  A regular update on what tours we are currently working on is also provided - this is generally the only direct mention of our Interactive Guided Tours.  This newsletter is primarily intended to be of use for people who are interested in the historic places we love - not as a hard-nosed sales tool.

Current members can access the latest newsletter her

-This month's newsletter - Victorian Edinburgh member resource-.              This section last updated manually 2/6/12

This month's newsletter came with a download link to this turn-of-the-century photograph album showing Edinburgh as it once looked.  Fabulous black and white images really bring out some of the grandeur of both the New Town and Old Town sections of the Edinburgh UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This download is free to all our members.  You can access back dated free resources once you complete the simple and secure process here

-Free things!-............................................................      ..................       This section last updated manually 5/4/12

Actual Education aims to be a company which shares our love of history with people around the world.  We aren't going for the 'hard sell' approach so we've included an extensive, and ever growing, 'free stuff' section.  Relax with our historic image jigsaws, send postcards featuring some very rare views of famous places or view some of our themed video clips.

We've been building up an extensive archive of old images of a number of different places covered in our Interactive Guided Tours.  The 'Galleries'
section of this website will let you view some galleries of images of Edinburgh, some dating back nearly two hundred years.  You will need to view these on a laptop or handheld tablet capable of running Adobe Flash Player.  If you wish to see an area of Edinburgh or York which hasn't been covered, send us an email and we will endevour to get some images online for you!

-Can't I just use Google Earth?-......................................................     ....This section last updated manually 22/4/12

We love Google Earth!  It is a good way to explore a city somewhere in the world...so why should you think about buying one of our Interactive Guided Tours?  Google Earth is great but it just wasn't designed to do what our tours do.  Our tours tell you some of the best stories each location has on offer.  Most of our tours take you on a carefully chosen pathway which follows streets, defensive walls, closes and courtyards.  Archive images, rotatable models, video clips and photographs give an understanding of history which most typical virtual tours aren't designed to do.  A picture doesn't always tell a thousand words!

Click here to see just how our Interactive Guided Tours compare next to Google Earth.
