Bonnie Prince Charlie is one of the most famous characters in Scottish history and this unique Interactive Guided Tour takes you around some of the old Edinburgh locations linked to the enigmatic Stewart and his Jacobite followers.

The heady Summer of 1745 is one of the most fascinating periods in Edinburgh's history as the capital prepared its defences against the 'Highland' forces of the 'Young Pretender', Prince Charles Edward Stewart.

This Interactive Guided Tour visits a number of Old Town locations which would have been familiar to Prince Charles. You will explore locations which help tell the story of the Hanoverian supporters in the city, including the grave of George Drummond, Edinburgh's most famous Lord Provost. You will also learn about the Jacobite's suprise attack on the Netherbow Port and their subsequent occupation of the city.

Edinburgh experienced a summer under Bonnie Prince Charlie's Jacobites that has lived on in history and this Edinburgh tour takes you to some of the places which played a role during the occupation.

This innovative virtual tour contains four chapters which look at Hanoverian Edinburgh, the Jacobite occupation and what happened in Edinburgh following the Jacobite's catastrophic defeat at the Battle of Culloden. You will look at both sides of the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745 and focus on how this civil war was played out on the streets of the most important city in Scotland. This tour will let you discover where you can walk in the footsteps of Prince Charles Edward Stewart and his Jacobite troops and learn of the problem caused by Edinburgh Castle and its Hanoverian defenders.
