Greyfriars Kirkyard - The Interactive Guided Tour
Greyfriars Kirkyard is world famous as the home to the faithful wee Skye Terrier known as Greyfriars Bobby. Two films have been produced which celebrate the life of this devoted pooch but it would be wrong to assume that that is the only story this historic churchyard holds. Greyfriars Kirkyard is the 'home' to at least 150,000 Old Edinburgh people and there are many fascinating tales. This comprehensive virtual tour takes introduces you to robbers, murderers, executed criminals, disgraced Regents, famous anatomists, martyred Covenanters and many other interesting people who played an important part in the history of Edinburgh. You will also get a chance to explore the infamous "Covenanters' Prison". This is usually only open to one of the excellent ghost tours which visit Greyfriars. You'll be amazed at some of the stories in our virtual tour!
£5 from each sale goes to the Greyfriars Kirkyard Trust. Why not take a more detailed look at our Greyfriars Kirkyard CD-ROM?

This visual guidebook will give you an insight into Edinburgh's history that few other types of media will give you. This amazing CD-ROM will let you choose where to look, unlike a DVD, and it will give you a visual treat that you are unlikely to get in a paper-and-text guidebook. Each of the 120 scenes can be viewed using your monitor's full screen, giving you as close a feeling of 'being there' as technology permits. Detailed, informative text and audio commentary also compliment each scene.

Edinburgh's History - The Flodden Wall
Edinburgh's historic Flodden and Telfer Walls aren't as famous as the city walls around York, Chester or Berwick-upon-Tweed, but they are still fascinating. Many of the hundreds of thousands of visitors who flock to Edinburgh each year don't even know that Edinburgh was a walled city and even fewer realise that parts of these walls still exist. This unique Interactive Guided Tour takes you right around the route of the Flodden Wall. We visit the Telfer Wall and also learn a little about the earlier King's Wall of 1450. This CD-ROM is split into three seperate virtual tours which let you explore this interesting piece of archaeology in detail.

The Bodysnatchers and Burke and Hare
Bodysnatchers, the very term sent shivers up the spines of Edinburgh's poor. Life was bad enough for them but the thought that their bodies might be dissected was too horrifying to consider. Most people believed that they would exist in heaven with the bodies in the state they were in when they died. Edinburgh's famed anatomy schools prided themselves on letting their students see regular dissections and the lecturers were often not disuaded by little things like 'belief' and 'legality'. This CD-ROM has three seperate tours, one on Edinburgh locations linked to the bodysnatchers and one which serves as a quick look at life for Edinburgh's poor in the 19th century. The final tour focuses on the most famous resurrection men of all time, Burke and Hare. This tour gives you a great understanding of the story, in the locations where the terrible deeds happened, for William Burke and William Hare were never bodysnatchers, they were murderers!
This forthcoming Interactive Guided Tour will explore the locations which played a role in the life of this intriguing character. Due for release in December 2010.
Deacon Brodie's Edinburgh - Around the haunts of an eighteenth century playboy
Deacon William Brodie was one of Edinburgh's playboy characters but beneath the charming and dashing surface there was a story which shocked Edinburgh's high society when it was revealed. People might use the term "Jekyll and Hyde" to describe Deacon Brodie but this could be more appropriate than many realise. Robert Louis Stevenson was said to have enjoyed the story of Deacon Brodie as he lay in his sick bed as a child looking through the windows of his New Town house across at the dark tenements of the Old Town. The fascinating story of Willie Brodie's change from society man by day and burglar by night may just have impressed the young Stevenson enough to have been the model for his famous novel.
This forthcoming Interactive Guided Tour will explore the locations which played a role in the life of this intriguing character. Why not become a member of our online community and get regular updates of our progress on our Deacon Brodie CD-ROM?

Robert Louis Stevenson's Picturesque Notes
This may be the only virtual tour we offer which does not have sound but don't let that put you off. Stevenson's original text has been given new life with our 'full-screen' panoramic images which let you explore the areas he talks about as they appear today.

A Walk Down the Royal Mile with John Kay
John Kay could well be described as one of the most important men in Enlightenment Edinburgh. Mr Kay was a barber, miniaturist and social commentator. His work helps keep alive some of the most fascinating, and downright strange, characters of late 18th century Edinburgh. We've picked some of the most intriguing of Kays subjects and have incorporated his etchings alongside the places they lived and worked in. Using information from Kay's "A series of original portraits and caricature etchings" you can take a virtual walk down the Royal Mile and discover some of these fascinating people.
Due for release February 2010. You will receive updates on this CD-ROM if you become a member of our online community. Membership is free and your details are not shared with anyone else.

Bonnie Prince Charlie in Edinburgh
Prince Charles Edward Stuart, also known as Bonnie Prince Charlie, occupied Edinburgh for a time in 1745. This unique virtual tour tells you the story of his short occupation. The locations which featured in the initial defence by the Government forces feature in tour 1. The next guided tour looks at locations which many of the Jacobite army would possibly still recognise today. The final tour then looks at the places linked to the evacuation of the Old Town as the Prince's army moved South and also those places which played a role in the end of the rebellion and the reoccupation of Edinburgh by the forces of 'Butcher' Cumberland. This tour offers a fascinating insight into life in Edinburgh during those exciting times of late summer 1745. This fascinating CD-ROM looks at both sides during the struggle and reveals that the old myth of the war being a 'Scotland v England' one was far from the truth.
Due for release March 2010.
