An IBM PC compatible computer running Microsoft Windows XP/Vista Flash Player installed on your computer in order to hear audio mouse/touchpad to control the 360 degree views.

You will need Adobe Flash Player to get this tour to work. This is one of the safest and most common software drivers in the world, you probably have it already!

Click 'Take this demonstration' first to launch your historic virtual tour. If it doesn't work then click on the 'Link me to Flash' button. This will take you straight to the Adobe Flash Player website. Adobe is one of the safest and most respected software companies in the world. Check the licence before you download*.

-Installation Problems-

1 - If you can't find, or have lost, the shortcut for your tour don't worry. Go to 'My Computer' and then look in either the 'Program Files' folder or the 'Program Files (x86)' folder. Your tour will be installed in one of these folders. It will have the name of the tour you purchased. In this folder will be an 'application' file named 'autorun'. You can double click on this to launch the tour. You can also use this file to make a replacement shortcut on your desktop. Right click on the file, select 'Create shortcut' and a message will appear saying you cannot create a shortcut here but you can have the shortcut placed onto your desktop.

2 -If you are running an older machine you may experience 'lag' where the computer slows down whilst running the tour. This is unlikely but if it does happen there are a few things you can do to speed things up.

You may wish to close down any other pieces of software you have running in the background. Pressing CTRL + ALT + DELETE and selecting 'Task Manager' lets you see what can be closed down. Please do this with caution as stopping some pieces of software may cause problems or remove levels of virus and malware protection.

Running the tour in 'full screen' mode can use more processing power so it may be better, depending on how old your system is, to run the scenes in the standard, smaller view.

3 - If you are using a laptop with a small screen (under 12.1 inches) then please contact us. You can change the resolution of your screen by right clicking on the desktop (in Windows 7) and choosing 'Screen Resolution'. Set it to the highest resolution possible. Anything 800x600 or lower will result in parts of the screen cutting off parts of your tour.

Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Adjust Screen Resolution is another way of getting to your computer's resolution settings. This should ensure your historic virtual tour runs smoothly.

-Possible problems with running the tours-

4 - If you find it difficult to control the tour using your mouse or the trackpad of your laptop try using the keyboard instead. Left click on the panoramic photograph and use the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard to 'look around'. You do still need to left click but this might be easier.

Slow, steady and smooth movements are advised when using the mouse. Sudden, fast or jerky moves with the mouse can cause problems and don't let you look around the scene as successfully as you would wish.

5 - If you have lost your downloaded tour, or have a problem running the CD-Rom, contact us and we will endevour to send you a link so you can download a replacement file.

If you are trying to run the install file directly from a CD-Rom, you may try dragging and copying this file onto your desktop and then running it.
